Class Education are working with an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ School based in the market town of Hitchin, Hertfordshire who are seeking an experienced Computer Science Teacher to take on the role of Head of Department.

This is a high achieving and oversubscribed single sex, all-ability school with 1080 student on their roll with an additional 260 in their Sixth Form. The School is located in the beautiful market town of Hitchin and benefits from its own playing fields and wooded area. The students and teachers have access to specialist teaching areas for Art and Design, Food, Textiles, Graphics and Resistant Materials, ICT and Business Technology, Drama, Mathematics, Music and Science. Over the years the school has achieved academic successes and have been able to celebrate the fact that students of all levels make excellent progress in their chosen courses. The school are looking to appoint a Head of Computer Science for January 2021. You will need to be an outstanding teacher that is confident in leading a very successful department and to be at the forefront of developing digital learning across the school. The school has adopted the use of Google Classroom and GSuite across all areas of the school and this provides an opportunity for the successful applicant to engage at a whole school level with the next phase of this development.
The successful applicant is likely to have experience teaching both GCSE and A Level and will be required to teach across KS3, KS4 and KS5. We offer AQA GCSE and AQA A level Computer Science.
